UberChic Beauty Collection 20 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  UberChic Beauty just released a bunch of new plates TODAY and I was lucky enough to get them early so I could share them right away!  I can't believe they're all the way up to Collection 20, the star of today's blog post.  There's 3 plates in this collection and I've done 2 manis with each plate.  Keep reading to see all the details (and to get a look at the plates)!

Whats Up Nails Stamping Plates...and more!

Press  Sample

Hey there!  It's the last day of August...can you believe it?!  What better way to end the month than by sharing some of the nail art I've done with some Whats Up Nails stamping plates lately.  Actually, there's not only stamping plates here...I used the plates with one of the newer Magic Shifting Powders (my favourite nail art invention of the last while) and one of the iridescent flakies.  Whats Up really is fantastic as coming out with great products so I hope you like what I've done with them today.

The Digit-al Dozen does Birthdays - August 2017

Hey there!  It's a big birthday month over in the Digit-al Dozen!  Three of the ladies celebrated this month: Tammy of Canadian Nail Fanatic, Lothwen of Manis and Makeovers and  Sarah of 25 Sweetpeas and Tammy of Canadian Nail Fanatic.  So many birthdays!  They picked a tropical image to go with the winding down of summer.  I did my best to freehand it but I did NOT have the right colors, that's for sure.  So I guess mine is just loosely inspired by their photo.

Whats Up Nails Aurora Pigment Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Happy Monday folks!  Can you believe that by the end of the week it's going to be September?  Yuck!  Luckily summer is still in full swing here because I still have lots of summer-feeling nail art to share.  Today's post is about something I'm sure all the nail fantatics out there have seen - the new magical unicorn nail powder...at least that's what I call it!  Whats Up Nails recently released their version called Aurora Pigment and I'm in love.  So is everyone around me who has seen it.  I've tried it plain over lots of colors, with rainbow nails underneath, with stencils and it's even currently on my toes.  Don't worry, I won't show my toes but I do have photos of everything else in today's post.  I also have photos in different lighting conditions so I hope I can demonstrate everything you need to know about it here.

Crocus Flower Nail Stamping

Hey there!  Ages ago I asked my friend in London to give me some nail inspiration and he's always very accommodating so he sent me a picture of some flowers.  It must have been spring since I think these are spring flowers.  Even though I didn't wear these recently, I realized now would be a good time to share them since they fit with the Flowers theme for August in the Nail Challenge Collaborative group.  Luckily for me, I found a stamping image that appeared to match these flowers pretty well so I didn't have to freehand again (like I did for yesterday's post).

Nail Crazies Unite - Sunflowers

Hey there!  Today I have some sunflowers I painted to share.  Yes, I actually freehanded something.  It's a rare, rare occurrence!  But since today's Nail Crazies Unite theme is sunflowers (and the Nail Challenge Collaborative flower month) and I've already used the UberChic sunflower image, I decided to try to paint them.  I think they actually turned out looking like sunflowers so I'm happy :-)

Madam Glam Gelementary Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  This evening have some swatches of Madam Glam's new product line, just in time for back to school.  This collection is called Gelementary, such a clever name but man does autocorrect hate it!  The collection consists of 18 no-lamp gel-like polish creme polishes.  That's right.  While Madam Glam is my go-to gel polish brand, this collection isn't a tradition, need-to-be-cured, gel polish line.  I received 7 of these 5-free, cruelty-free, vegan polishes to show you all today.  They apply really smoothly and dry super shiny.  They're designed  to be long wearing.  I assume the use of the Gelementary top coat and base coat would add to the longevity but I can't speak to that since I did not receive them with these samples.  If any of these strike your fancy (and they really should - who doesn't love a great creme polish?) you can use the code Claws30 to save 30% off your order!  Now let's get to the swatches...and some easy nail art that I did with these.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - End of Summer

Hey there!  In addition to being the end of the Digit-al Dozen's theme this week, it's also time for 26 Great Nail Art Ideas.  This week our theme was "End of Summer" which I refused to acknowledge since it's only the middle of August.  Then, at my ultimate game last week, I saw a little V of geese flying south.  My heart dropped.  That's a surefire sign of summer ending here.  I don't know where those geese go but I hope they know they made me very very sad!  On the plus side, they inspired today's nails.  That evening also had a beautiful sunset, as though the sky knew I needed to be cheered up a bit...

The Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres - Fantasy

Press  Sample

Hey there!  It's sadly time for the end of this week's Digit-al Dozen theme of Story Genres.  What have you thought of this week?  Are there any genres we all missed?  For my final look, I went with what is probably one of my favourite genres now - Fantasy.  I haven't always read fantasy books but they've slowly crept into my life and now make up most of my reading, especially if you count anything supernatural as fantasy.  What can I say?  I like my books with just a hint of the unreal.  I keep telling myself I'm going to re-read the Game of Thrones books but it's such a big task that they just sit around looking pretty.  There's no unicorns in Game of Thrones but maybe there should be, haha!

The Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres - Children's Stories

Hey there!  I really didn't want children's stories to be anywhere near the erotica stamping I posted the other day so it's here now for today's Digit-al Dozen Story Genres theme.  Ironically I'm a grown woman and really wanted to use this plate because I was reading an Alice In Wonderland story myself at the time.  I was reading Heartless, a Young Adult book by Marissa Meyer about the Queen of Hearts.  I quite like her takes on old school tales.  And in the book, I saw quite a few of the characters featured here.  So while my inspiration is more of a YA story, the origin is a children's book - one I just gave to my niece for her birthday yesterday!

The Digital Dozen does Story Genres - Western

Hey there!  It's the middle of the Digit-al Dozen week.  Today's is how you can tell I was really struggling with this week's theme of story genres.  I've never read a western book in my entire life but I know that westerns are a novel style so that's what I did for today.  And, since I had UberChic Beauty's Wild West plates, it was a pretty simple one.

The Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres - Erotica

Hey there!  It's a late night post because today's Story Genre is soooooo racy.  When this month's theme was announced, I was sure it was one of my friend's ideas, Laurie from Dressed Up Digits.  She's not so into blogging anymore so I hope she's having more time for another one of her interests, erotic literature.  But it has to be good erotica (no first person, right Laurie?).  So that's my story genre today.  I do have the infamous sex plate but I didn't go that far for these.  They're just a little bit sexy.  On a related note, I did use the sex plate one and I felt so naughty...I still have the pictures but only one person ever has seen them!

The Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres - Comics/Crime

Hey there!  It's time for a new Digit-al Dozen week.  I know there's a lot of nail polish fiends who also devour books so this week's theme should be a fun one.  We're doing Story Genres.  Sounds easy enough but I will admit I totally hit up the google machine to try to brainstorm some ideas for this one.  I'm starting with a genre that I'm not really a fan of but in a style that I do really like.  I have a Comics plate from MoYou London that I don't think I've ever really used before that looks like a crime story.  I don't read many crime books (though I do subscribe to the Sword and Scale podcast which I highly recommend for any true crime fans) but I do really like a pop culture/comic book nail look so that's what I have for you today.

Nail Crazies Unite - Nautical with Whats Up Nails Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I'm once again late with my nail challenge post this week.  I had a super fun, super busy weekend spent with lots of sun and friends.  This week's Nail Crazies Unite theme was Nautical .  I actually have two nautical nail art looks that I've done recently using Whats Up Nails products.  In the first I used the Anchor Stencils and in the second I used four products: Rainforest Magic Shifting Powder, Waves Stencils, Dolphins Stencils and Holographic Powder (previously reviewed here).  If you've read my blog at all in the last few months, you already know I'm a giant fan of their vinyls and their powders so I use them every chance I get.  I particularly love when I get to combine them.  There's lots of photos here so I'll get right to it!

Moonflower Polish Multichrome Stamping Polish Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  In a couple days Moonflower Polish is going to be releasing an exciting new collection - multichrome stamping polishes!  I've gotten to try out a selection of all of Nadia's stamping polishes over the last 6 months and I have to say, her formula has gotten better and better.  These polishes stamp like a dream, even with a clear stamper and they also apply easily as regular polish as well.  Today I have swatches of them all over white and black (black is where they really shine) and on their own.  I liked them so much I even used all 5 in a stamped gradient that I fell in love with.  These will be available on August 11, 2017 and my lovely readers can use the code COPYCAT10 to save 10% off your order.  Keep reading to see more about this upcoming release.

UberChic Beauty Collection 19 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Can you believe the lovely Brittany of UberChic Beauty has come out with 19 collections?!  Seems like just yesterday...  But here we are at #19 and I was overjoyed to be able to play with it.  As with her other collection, Collection 19 is a set of 3 plates with a wide variety of image styles.  There's layered images, negative space, florals, geometrics, text and buffet images!  She really packs a lot into her collections and this one is no exception.  I did two manis per plate but I barely scratched the surface of the possibilities.  Keep reading so you can see what I mean.

Hey there!  It's been over a week since I got a blog post up...miss me?  I thought I could blog from my vacation but after spending $200 in data charges to just get a couple posts up, I pretty much gave up.  But I'm back home now and, most importantly, back to my little corner of the internet.  I decided to get back at it by bringing you some swatches I did on my vacation....which means I could catch the Celestial Cosmetics + Color4Nails' new stamping polishes with all their holographic sparkle!  Check them out!  These were released a couple weeks ago on Color4Nails but I just checked and they're all still available.  Woohoo!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Color Explosions

Hey there!  I'm so late with my 26 Great Nail Art Ideas post since I was up at the cabin that, now that I'm home, I'm sitting around at midnight to type it up quickly.  I really wanted to get these up in time since I adored wearing them!  This week's theme was "Color Explosions" and I immediately thought of Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark series with all it's splashes and splatters.  But here I am 3 and a half days later...better late than never right?!
