Whats Up Nails Floral Designs

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Since spring is finally in full swing around these parts, I figured today would be a great day to post some floral nail designs I've worn recently, all with the help of more Whats Up Nails products.  I've had a few reviews for them lately and I truly have nothing but good things to say about them.  An easy to use website, great communication and, most importantly, quality product. I was originally contacted to try out a few of their stamping plates. Last week I showed how I used their water marble plate (you can see that here) and today I have two new floral plates, A005 and B018.  But while I was posting flowers, I thought I'd also show a couple of flower stencils that they have, the Hibiscus and Bloom Stencils.

6 x 12 cm plate

I've had no problems whatsoever with any of the Whats Up Nails plates I've tried.  This is the only plate I have that isn't a traditional format of separate stamping images.  These flowers could be used individually (using a bit of sticky tape on your stamper to remove the bits you don't want) or together.  I picked the upper left corner to use for my mani.

For these I used a base of A England Virgin Queen and did some advanced stamping with Mundo de Unas Black and Essie Penny Talk.  I liked it shiny but I loved it matte so that's how I'm showing it here.

6 x 12 cm plate
15 x 21 mm images

Here I used the second from the right image on the bottom row.  Even though these flowers have stems, the images are big enough that I could do an accent nail without stems and still fill up my entire nail.  That's impressive!

My base color here is ILNP Bermuda Breeze.  I didn't want to make decals or do advanced stamping this time so I stamped with white then coloured in the flowers straight on my nails with Misa Cherry Blossom Awesome, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and OPI I'm Sooo Swamped and then just restamped with black.  It's not perfect but it's not bad.  Thank goodness for clear stampers!

$3.75 USD
20 stencils
5 sizes (8x8 mm - 14x14 mm)

I love Hawaii so I love all things hibiscus, especially nails.  The Whats Up Nails website has a cool example of this stencil being used with more than one color so I tried it out here myself.  The base is OPI Black Onyx or China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise.  For the stencils and the dots I swirled some China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely with a white polish and applied it quickly with a dotting tool.

The best thing about Whats Up Nails stencils (other than the fact that the pieces easily peel up separately like they're suppose to) is that they come in different sizes.  My sister always complains that stencils are always too big for her but now she has to be quiet because Whats Up Nails has her miniature nails covered.

My last floral nails of the day were done with the Bloom Stencils.  For these I did a reciprocal gradient with Rica Mellow Yellow and Pinky Promise.
