Last week I posted my look at Lina Nail Art Supplies new products, including this Fearless Top Coat that is touted as not messing with foils (review can be found here). So I tested that claim and found she was right. This top coat doesn't shred foils like every other one does. The foil I tested it with is Caribbean Tides...that sounds heaven in some calm, blue water. So I added some stamping from Lina Nail Art Supplies Make Your Mark 08 with Maniology Bam! White. I thought this would look like the white ripples you get as the water rolls in.
But what I got was my calm water looking like lightning in the palm trees (from Lina Nail Art Supplies 4 Seasons - Summer 01 stamped with Lina's Stamp Stick Black). I mean, there are certainly storms in places with palm trees . Not every tropical vacation has perfect weather and this one shows that.
After the stamping, I topped again with Fearless Top Coat. In addition to not being hard on foils, it's also formulated to prevent smearing of your hard-earned stamping. It definitely does that too. Normally I'd use it and then follow it up with a quick dry top coat but I skipped the last step here so that I didn't ruin the foils at the last second.
That's the end of our vacation. I hope you didn't get tired of blue mani after blue mani coming from me. What can I say? When I think of vacation, I think of open water and open skies....

If you do not have the time or inclination to order up a water-based topcoat, Piggy Polish's topcoats work for keeping metallics unwrecked as well. That brand is sold at Target and Walmart in the US, not sure about Canada.
