Hey there! As much time as I spend online, it does happen that I miss out on amazing brands. Luckily, we have stockists to bring introduce us to brands we might not have heard of otherwise. That was the case for me with Lacquester, a Dutch indie brand who has been around for a couple of years. I saw people asking Color4Nails to bring it in so I googled and fell in love. During their first stock of Lacquester I bought a pile of them. When I received my order it included a few extras for me to swatch but I decided to swatch them all just in case you also needed a new indie to love. It just so happens that most of these are being restocked tomorrow at 11 am Pacific Time so set your alarms. Since they're mostly out of stock today, the links I have here might not work but I'll try to fix them when they're restocked. There was something about these that cried out for a matte top coat as well so I tried all of them with glossy AND matte top coat so there's a ton of photos in this post. I hope you like them!
Most of these polishes were fully opaque at two coats but I'll list the number of coats for each. Their formulas were great and applied easily. The only issue I had with them was with the brush, which I'll go into at the end of this post. The swatch photos were all taken in a light box with glossy (Vapid Lacquer quick dry top coat) and OPI matte top coat. In italics I'm including the descriptions from the Color4Nails website but if I have any additional thoughts I'll include those as well.
A berry red based polish filled with ultra chrome chameleon flakies in blue, purple, magenta. It also has a shimmer color shift.

A very moody and dark blue nail polish with a strong holographic finish.
2 coats
To show off the holo more, I also took a photo in direct light. The holo is strong but nothing blinding.

With matte top coat, I thought this looked like a perfect pair of dark wash jeans. Matte top coat kills the holo but I quite liked it like this.

A dusty green/blue polish with a gorgeous copper shift and holographic finish.

I described this one as a greyed-out turquoise with a peach shimmer and subtle linear holographic effect. I had a hard time catching the color shift in the photos but it was quite prominent in real life. And very, very pretty.

CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8.4H2O
A bright green/blue with a violet shift.
2 coats
As a scientist, I couldn't not buy this one based entirely off it's chemical symbol name (even if some of those numbers should be subscript to me). If anyone is curious, this seems to be the chemical symbol for turquoise so it's a pretty genius name! I thought this color might stain but I had no staining using 1 coat of Vivid Lacquer All About That Base.
CuAl6(PO4)4(OH)8.4H2O with matte top coat was one of my favourites. I love a good shimmer matte'd!

Almost black, so it seems, but from within it shines purple/violet

The formula here was thin but controllable. I didn't have any flooding issues with this blackened purple with a purple metallic sheen.

A semi neon cool lilac colored nail polish with a copper shift.
2 coats
I was most impressed with the fact that a color this light only needed two coats. I thought it would need more. Again, I couldn't photograph the shift nearly as prominently as it showed in real life. This one is another gorgeous one!

A gorgeous purple, partly neon, based polish with bronze/copper/gold/red/fuchsia and green UCC flakies.
3 coats
I personally didn't see any neon here but it is definitely gorgeous. The base is a bit sheer to allow the flakies to shine through so I used 3 coats here. 2 coats was okay but it still looked a bit sheer at the tips so I added a third.
And everyone now knows that we must matte all the flakies. Dragon Heart is no exception. It looks great with a matte top coat.

A Super Interference Chrome Flakie topcoat.
1 coat over black |
Northern Lights is a flakie top coat with a blue/green shift. It can be used as just a topper but I used 3 coats over a black base in the photos below for full coverage. The flakies appear to range in size which adds some nice dimension to this polish.

Purplexit (Color4Nails Exclusive)
I do love this brand. The Lacquester bottles are 10 mL and the polish is 5 free which is always nice. The only criticism I have is that most of the brushes were a bit poorly cut, in my opinion. The bristles weren't even so they were a tad hard to work with. But not bad enough that I won't be checking out the new polishes being brought in tomorrow.
Are you thinking of picking any of these up now that they're available to us in North America? Which ones do you like the best?
