UberChic Beauty Holiday 2019 Nail Polish Swatches

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Here's something I haven't done in awhile - a straight swatch post.  Well I did manage to sneak in some nail art too...I couldn't resist.  For those that don't know, UberChic Beauty has been dipping her toes into the nail polish creation world and she's doing great!  Her first Halloween polishes sold out and now she's come up with a holiday trio and a special Black Friday polish.  I've genuinely worn these (separately from swatching them) and I love them.  There's something almost magical about their mix of holo and shimmer.  I'll be listing the regular price BUT I have it on good authority that there will be some special Black Friday pricing which will make these a steal!  Get these while you can.  They are limited edition so they will not be restocked.

Application-wise they were all very easy without issue.  The first coat seemed slightly sheer but they were fully opaque at 2 coats (and I don't use thick coats).  They are 7-free and cruelty-free.  Finish-wise, I'm not entirely sure how to describe the holo.  It's not a fully smooth linear holo but it also doesn't feel like glitter, at least upon removal.  However, it is described as holographic glitter, it just removes easier than glitter (no scrubbing or peel-off base coat required).  To me it's as though there's holographic flecks and contrasting shimmer flecks but that's just how I feel.  I don't know what goes into making nail polish, I just know I like it.  They dry with a satin finish on their own but I'm showing them with Vibrant Vinyls Fast & Hard top coat and with Tonic Polish Liquid Velvet top coat (since they also look amazing matte).  I normally take photos in a light box but I did these in direct light.  Unfortunately it still doesn't show all the holo sparkle but it does show the shimmer more than the light box does.

$10 USD (regular price)

First Snow is a light denim-colored holo with a purple-pink shift.  This is the first of two blues today but this one is a true blue, as opposed to aqua/turquoise.  There's a lovely icy feel to it with all the sparkle.  Shown is 2 coats plus top coat.

And with matte top coat...

$10 USD (regular price)

Meet Me Under The Mistletoe is a bright berry pink holo.  It's shimmer is described as electric pink but I see more of a purple hue to it, personally.  I found the holo sparkle to be the least apparent in this one but the contrasting shimmer to be the most apparent.  I'm not a pink lover but I've worn this one twice.  Shown is two coats plus top coat.

And with matte top coat...

$10 USD (regular price)

Snow Place Like Home is a purple holo (in between a light and a medium shade) with a blue and pink shift to it.  My photos are appearing slightly more blue than real life, possibly because cameras tend to do that to blues but also likely because of the shimmer.  Purple isn't a usual holiday color but this shade is perfect for winter.  Shown is 2 coats plus top coat.

And with matte top coat...

Arctic Skies (Black Friday Exclusive)

Arctic Skies is the Black Friday exclusive so I'm not sure how long it will be around.  It is a turquoise holo.  I don't really pick up on a contrasting color in this one.  Luckily, I'm a sucker for nail polish in this shade range.  I hate to play favourites but its color and the amped up sparkle level makes this one my favourite.  It was the first one I wore since I couldn't resist it.  I didn't even take photos the first time.  I just wore it for me.  Shown is 2 coats plus top coat.

And, once again, with matte top coat...

Dotticure

I wanted to sneak in a bit of nail art with these so I did a quick dotticure with the holiday trio (not including Arctic Skies) over a black base.  The shimmer really pops over this dark base.  I did photograph this mani in my light box and not direct light so this might give you a better idea of what these polishes look like in real life since the light wasn't fully blaring onto them.

I love how much this close up picks up on all the flecks and some of the color shifts.  That's why I wore this as a full mani.  Thank goodness dotticures are easy to do on both hands!

That's all for today.  I hope you all like UberChic Beauty's second line of nail polishes.  Maybe we can expect more for every holiday??  I don't know but I sure hope so.   Remember, these are limited edition so once they're gone, they're gone.

'Til next time...
