The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating Your First Blog Posts - Towel Stripes

Hey there!  Continuing with this week's Digit-al Dozen theme of recreating our first blog posts, I decided to re-do a mani with one of the most random inspirations.  It was originally inspired by my sister's towel, of all things.  I loved the color scheme and I love stripes so naturally I wanted to make nail art like this.  I even still have the towel, 5 years later, though it's a bit more faded and well worn than it used to be...

Here's a look at the original.  I still haven't gotten the colors quite right but at least I had a lighter grey this time around.

I used all KBShimmer polishes for this mani.  I started with my go-to white, Eyes White Open and added stripes of In Yacht Water, My Life’s Porpoise and Teal It To My Heart.

The stencils I used were from the first stencil company I found.  I think it was called Nail Vinyls but they're long gone now.  I'm happy I still have a sheet or two of these various sized straight vinyls.  They much easier than trying to eyeball it.

I just did these nails in the last couple weeks but it already feels like a lifetime ago since they look so summer-y.  Edmonton did indeed get snow today (can you believe it?!) so it looks like it'll be awhile before I feel warm again...  I guess to stay happy I'll have to check out the rest of the DD's re-creations.  You can find them too, in the links below.

'Til next time...
