Halloween Stamping

Hey there!  Trick or Treat to everyone who celebrates Halloween!  It seems to be far more popular here in North America so I'm sure that those of you elsewhere will be happy to see the Halloween nail art gone until next year.  I could not figure out what I wanted to wear on my nails today so I ended up with some pretty traditional and simple nail stamping.

Glitter Gradient with Bundle Monster Transparent Rainbow Stud

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a fall glitter gradient that I absolutely loved wearing earlier this week.  I used OPI German-icure, a polish that I adore but had apparently completely forgotten about and dabbed on some China Glaze Luxe and Lush, an interesting iridescent shred glitter topper, to create the glitter gradient.  I actually don't now how to describe this glitter.  It's has an interesting color shift effect and almost looks like little pieces of colorful foil.  And, on my accent nail, I have a transparent angled mirror-based 3D cube stud from Bundle Monster.

Spider Waterspotted Nails

Hey there!  As I was doing the waterspotting for the look I posted last week I thought, it struck me that when the polish was really broken up, it kinda looked like spiderwebs so I thought I'd try a little spiderweb nail art for Halloween.  Plus I had just read about the spider the size of a puppy so spiders were on my mind.

80's Nail Art

Hey there!  Seems like I've been doing a lot of decade-themed nail art lately.  I've done the 60's and the 70's and today we can add the 80's onto the list.  One of the 52 Week Pick 'n Mix themes this week is 80's so I found this neat-o pattern on Pinterest and decided to freehand it onto my nails.

Sunday Stamping - Halloween Nails

Hey there!  It's no surprise that this week's Sunday Stamping theme is Spooky & Scary Nails.  So I'm sharing this Halloween scene I did over Indigo Bananas Walk This Way.  And, as a bonus, it glows in the dark!

Halloween Gradient Nails

Hey there!  I was browsing Pinterest last week and came across this Halloween-toned gradient (originally posted on Fierce Makeup and Nails).  I loved how sparkly the orange was and wanted to do something similar and what sort of disappointed to see that they were nail wraps because that meant I couldn't see if I had the orange used in the gradient.  So I decided to try to recreate it on my own.

Indigo Bananas Spark of Life

Hey there!  It's not very often that I blog about a single polish.  It's not that I don't love polishes on their own but, when I have time, I like doing nail art.  And I change my nails more often than I blog so I end up playing favourites and sharing my nail art instead of swatches of the polishes I buy.  But I couldn't resist sharing this one, Indigo Bananas Spark of Life, because it's just so darn beautiful and unique.

Triple Water Spotted Nails

Hey there!  For this week's 52 Week Pick n Mix challenge I chose the "grey + color" prompt for my nail art.  I thought this would be a good time to give a few of the KBShimmer polishes I have some love so I used them for this water spotted look.  I guess I was in the mood for clean up this past weekend.  If you've ever used nail polish and water together, you know what I mean...

Fall Hunting Nail Stamping

Hey there!  How's everyone's weekend going?  Mine has felt super busy but I don't know what I've been busy with.  I'm a bit obsessed with Halloween nails already but today I have something different.  I wore these this past week after a couple of my curling teammates got home from a hunting trip.  I thought they'd like them but they were too interested.  Silly boys!

Stained Love Letter Nail Stamping

Hey there!  Today I have one of my favourite mani's I've ever done.  I actually did these a few weeks ago but I'm just getting around to sharing them now for some reason.  It's not even an original idea.  I actually posted some burnt parchment nail art back in February but after seeing this fantastic manicure using stamping decals, I wanted to do something similar with stamping decals.

Skeletal Flower Child Nail Stamping

Hey there!  One of this week's prompts for the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge is the 60's.  Since I just did some pretty standard 70's nail stamping, I went a bit out of the box for the 60's theme and did some "flower child" stamping...the twist is that she doesn't exactly look child-like since she's just a skull...

Sunday Stamping - Inspired by the decade you were born

Hey there!  So thanks to the theme chosen for this week's Sunday Stamping challenge, I have to date myself.  This week's theme is "inspired by the decade you were born" and for me that's the 70's...1978 to be exact.  Since I was only 13 months old when the 70's ended I don't exactly remember them so I went with some classic 70's colours...orange, yellow and brown.  They're so tacky that I kind of love them.

Torn Flesh Nail Art and Pretty Serious Love Bite

Hey there!  To celebrate the season premiere of The Walking Dead this weekend, I've done some torn flesh nails (I'm even wearing them at work today) inspired by Pack-a-Punch Polish.  So if you only like pretty nails, I suggest you look away right now.  They're kind of disgusting.

Mani Swap with Colors Frenzy

Hey there!  I'm so excited for today's post.  Novi from Colors Frenzy asked me if I wanted to do a mani swap and I jumped on the chance.  She has amazing nail art and swatches so I've followed her blog religiously for ages so I was very honoured that she asked me.  I decided to try to recreate her Dotted Hearts mani from earlier this year.

Real Dried Flower Nail Art

Press  Sample and Nothing to Disclose

Hey there!  It's Week 2 of the Crumpet's Nail Tart's Pick n Mix Challenge and I decided to go with the pink prompt and try a product I've never tried before...real dried flowers from Bundle Monster.  I paired them with one of my untried's, No Bra from the Loaded Lacquer Nude Jiggles Trio.

Inspired by the Talus Dome

Hey there!  You might be asking yourself "what the heck is the Talus Dome?".  Don't worry, you're not alone.  The Talus Dome is a piece of Edmonton artwork that has put that same question in the thought of most of us locals.  It's actually a really neat sculpture but it was expensive and placed quite randomly within the city so it was the cause of quite a bit of controversy here.  So why not turn it into nail art

Sunday Stamping - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey there!  I haven't been able to participate in a Sunday Stamping theme for a month but I'm very glad that I'm back for this one.  This week's theme is Breast Cancer Awareness - a theme that's close to many people's hearts.  According to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosis and the second most lethal caner among women over 20 in Canada.  I think doing our nails to help spread awareness the least we can do.

Teal Gradient Dotticure

Hey there!  Well the 31 Day Challenge is over so I've decided to embark on another challenge.  This time it's the Crumpet's Nail Tarts 52 Week Challenge started by the lovely Debbie of The Crumpet fame.  This challenge is much easier.  Each week there's two prompts and you can choose one, both or combine them.  This week I unintentionally combined the two themes which are "teal" and "gradient".  While this isn't a traditional gradient, it is a kind of gradient dotticure.

31DC2014 Round Up Post

Hey there!  I thought since I put so much into my first foray into the 31 Day Challenge and that I completed it on time that I'd really like to celebrate a little in a round up post in case you guys missed any.  And I've spent a little time figuring out how to link photos so, if I've done it correctly, the photos below should link to the original blog post.  Need eh?

I have quite a few favourites.  I was most proud of: 1.  the Rainbow Brite drawing for rainbow day 2. the Rubik's cube nails for geometric day 3. the autumn gradient for inspired by a color day and 4. the birds for inspired by art day.

So is there anything I put out there that you particularly liked/disliked?  And any idea for what I can do now since it seems my nail art ideas are all tapped out, haha!

Thanks for sticking with me through this!  And thanks for all your support!

'Til next time...
