The Digit-al Dozen does Games- Checkers Nails

Hey there!  It's time for a new Digit-al Dozen week.  I'm really hoping to not fall behind again so I'm doing a quick blog post before bed.  This month our theme is "Games".  I'm starting with a some simple nail art for some checkers nails.  I have no memory of ever playing checkers...can you believe it.  I feel like everyone must have played such an iconic game but I seriously can't remember it for myself.  Oh well, at least I can wear it on my nails.

The Digit-al Dozen does Christmas In July - Merry Summer!

Hey there!  I asked my sister to help me come up with Christmas In July nail ideas for this week's Digit-al Dozen theme and she came across a picture of a watermelon Christmas tree.  It was just such a perfect blend of summer and Christmas that I couldn't not use it.  I wasn't entirely sure what else to do with it but I thought neon Christmas lights would be fun so that's what I have to share today.

The Digit-al Dozen does Vacation - Live Love Lake

Hey there!  It's the second day of The Digit-al Dozen's Vacation Week and, since I tend to spend all my vacation time at the lake, I really wanted to do some slightly less tropical nails.  A couple weeks ago my sister and I did a sign painting night and I think one of the phrases you could paint was "Live Love Lake" and I thought I could get that on my nails.  But of course there wasn't a stamping plate with just the word "lake" so I tried to improvise....and failed.  I do love the lake but it turns out it was impossible for me to turn the word love into lake without creating this mess!  Other than that one word though, I did like this mani.  Apparently I just need to convince a plate maker to throw the "Lake" onto a plate so I can do this again, properly!

Born Pretty Store Stamping Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a stamping plate and polish review for Born Pretty Store.  I haven't reviewed a Born Pretty product in ages but I'm more than happy to.  They are certainly a go-to nail art supply store when I'm looking for quality, inexpensive products.  That being said, since they are based in Asia, orders do take awhile to appear in my mail box but I'm rarely disappointed once I receive them.  They sent me 2 stamping plates and 2 chameleon stamping polishes to try out so let's take a look!

UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance and Collection 28 Stamping Plates

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.  I sure did!  It was cold and snowy here so I stayed in all weekend and played with my newest UberChic Beauty stamping plates!  So today I'm sharing the UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance and Collection 28 plates.  Actually I did start testing them out last week but this weekend was the biggest part of it.  These plates were a joy to work with so this pretty much made an ideal weekend for me.  The plates themselves were flawless so the only frustration I had was when I felt like I had too many things I wanted to do with them.  Normally I do two mani's/plate when I'm doing a review but I did an extra one here because there was one mani I just HAD to do.  Now let's take a look!

Nail Crazies Unite - Plaid

Hey there!  Now that Halloween is over I'm back to posting non-holiday nails.  Today's Nail Crazies Unite prompt is Plaid.  I happened to do these before I even know UberChic was coming out with a plaid plate (which ended up being AMAZING).  Luckily, I do have other plaid plates.  UberChic's is great because the layering ideas are obvious and plentiful.  I had to make do layering plaid off a different plate with images that made it a bit more challenging but I still like the outcome.

UberChic Beauty Bling Pickup & Placement Tool Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have another one of the nail art tools available from UberChic Beauty.  I think most of us think only of plates when we hear about UberChic BUT she also has a range of tools and lifestyle items.  Over the years I've tried out her stampers, clean up brushes, striping brushes, plate holder and the list goes on...  Today I'm sharing the Bling Pickup & Placement tool, a little invention that helps pick up and placing any of your nail art accoutrements (can you believe that was honestly the first word to pop into my head...I'm getting so fancy 😂)!  I'd been tempted to try older (and far more expensive) tools similar to this but I'm glad I waited since hers is beautiful AND inexpensive!

Maniology + Nails by Miri BM-XL222 Stamping Plate Review

Affiliate Code

Hey there!  Today I have my first post since Bundle Monster rebranded to Maniology.  In case you hadn't heard, they've changed their name to better represent their focus on all things nail-related, which I'm all for.  It might be a bit confusing since the older plates are still named with "BM" but I'll try to refer to them as Maniology from now on (though I fully expect I'll make some mistakes since I do use my Bundle Monster plates a lot).  Today's post is about BM-XL222, a collaboration plate with Nails By Miri.  If you're interested in this, or any other Maniology products, don't forget to use my code COPY10 to save 10%.

Moonflower Polish Enchanted Rose - August 2018 Polish Pickup

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have the upcoming polish from Moonflower Polish, Enchanted Rose, for August's Polish Pickup theme of Musicals.  Like Nadia, I'm not a big musical fan but I do love Disney movies so her Beauty and the Beast inspiration was right up my alley.  And the fact that this holographic pink polish was a dream on its own AND stamps, made me so happy.  Keep reading to see more details on how I tested it out.  If you're a pink polish lover, I'd say get this on your PPU wishlist as soon as you can.  It is capped at 75 bottles so don't wait!

The Digit-al Dozen does In My Garden/Nail Crazies Unite Lisa Frank Inspired

Hey there!  For today's post I managed to combine the Digit-al Dozen's In My Garden week with today's Nail Crazies Unite theme of Lisa Frank-Inspired.  I know rainbow roses like this don't grow naturally but wouldn't it be cool if they did?!  I'm actually a bit too old to really know what Lisa Frank did but I do she did a lot of neat neon stuff so I did some neon roses with the dreams that someday there will be a neon rose garden.

The Digit-al Dozen does In My Garden - Garden Thieves

Hey there!  My third Digit-al Dozen In My Garden post will be a quick one.  When I was trying to think of ideas for Garden week, I asked my mom what pests were in her garden.  Her response: "deer, rabbits...and your dad".  Good one, Mom!  So that was the inspiration for today's mani - the critters that steal my mom's veggies!

The Digit-al Dozen does Inspired By Each Other - Druid Nails

Hey there!  I'm so darn late with my fourth Digit-al Dozen post for the week.  I normally do my blog posts at the end of my work day but I had errands after work, followed by my ultimate frisbee game, followed by beer with the team.  And now it's after midnight but, since I haven't slept yet, it's still day 4 for me!  Today's Inspired By Each Other mani was inspired by Druid Nails.  I first started following Brethil a couple years ago when we were in the same rotation in one of the nail challenge groups.  Even though our prompts were the same, I always thought her designs were soooo much cooler than what I did.  So I was really excited when she agreed to join the DD with us.  For this week, I scrolled through her manis and saw this one that was right up my alley.  I love gradients with stamping so I loved recreating this one.

The Digit-al Dozen/26 Great Nail Art Ideas Does French With A Twist

Hey there!  We've come to the end of The Digit-al Dozen's Stamping Week which just so happens to fall on the same day at 26 Great Nail Art Ideas theme of "French With A Twist".  French manicures are traditionally freehanded or use vinyls (at least as far as my limited knowledge goes) so my twist was that I stamped the french tip here.  I will say that plates with french tips combined with clear stampers make french manis WAY more appealing to me.  When I've tried to do french manicures in the past, I ended up with sort of blobby looking tips because I use too much white so it gets thicker....it's really not pretty.  Since stamping using a really thin amount of polish, the end doesn't get thick. Unfortunately it also means it doesn't wear very well but it got me through a day at work which is good enough for me!

The Digit-al Dozen does Stamping - Leadlighting

Hey there!  Can you believe it's already time for a new Digit-al Dozen week?  The last one just ended a couple weeks ago but the timing worked out that this is the week for March.  I'm not complaining since this month's theme makes me so happy.  This week we're all doing stamping!  There's quite a few stampers in the group so I think a bunch of us are pretty pleased with it.  Rather than just show 5 random stamped manis of mine, I tried to come up with 5 different stamping techniques for my designs this week, starting with leadlighting.  Normally leadlighting is done with sheer polish over a light base (otherwise the color won't show) but I tried it with some shimmery polish that I bought from Born Pretty Store.  It's practically clear on its own but it's super pretty over black.  I'm so happy with how these turned out!

The Digit-al Dozen does Mythical Creatures - Dragons

Hey there!  To end off The Digit-al Dozen's Mythical Creatures week, we also have Nail Crazies Unite prompt of Red & Black Hobbies.  How can anyone combine such specific themes, you ask.  Well I managed to do it and ended up with my favourite mani of the week.  For my hobby, I chose reading.  I love reading, especially at the lake in the summers (I admit that I don't read nearly enough in winter).  I have read the Game of Thrones books and watched the show, sometimes repeatedly.  I also listened to the entire Binge Mode podcast series on it.  In other words, GoT takes enough time that it is also practically a hobby.  And there's DRAGONS!!!  Take that super specific prompts....combo'ed!

The Digit-al Dozen does Mythical Creatures - Phoenix

Hey there!  It's Day 2 of The Mythical Creatures week.  Today I channelled a former DD member, Cheyenne from CDB Nails and used her amazing fire mani as a base for some phoenix nail art.  I don't actually know very much about the phoenix except that I seem to really like them on my nails.  This isn't the first phoenix nails I've done and I'm sure it won't be the last.

The Digit-al Dozen does Mythical Creatures - Unicorns

Hey there!  It's a new Digit-al Dozen week...woohoo!  This month we're tackling Mythical Creatures. At first I didn't really love the prompt mostly because I couldn't really think 5 unique mythical creatures but I ended up really liking some of the designs I have for you this week.  Today's mani is one that I loved.  I have a feeling we'll see lots of unicorns this week and I can't wait.  I think these turned out really pretty.  I actually liked the base so much that I didn't want to cover it up but it had to be done.  I did take a photo before I stamped though so you can see it.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Insects

Hey there!  Today the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas group is having a fun theme - insects/bugs!  It's not a particularly seasonal one for me since we've had snow on the ground for over a month so most of the bugs are long gone.  BUT I just so happened to have done an ant mani for my summer holidays this past summer and I forgot to post it so you're getting to see that today.  I should've done a new one but I've been sort of nail-lazy lately...sorry!

UberChic Beauty Collection 22 and Got Chevron? Stamping Plates

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a few of the newest plates from UberChic Beauty to show you guys.  Almost two whole weeks ago (I've been slow on this one, I know) they released the latest collection AND a collaboration plate with JayLynn of @gotnail called Got Chevron?.  While I'm always the most pumped for new collections, my sister who pretty much only stamps her nails with chevrons was excited to see a whole plate of them.  I've done a couple manis with each plate and, while I do enjoy the chevron plate, the collections still have my heart.  Which are you more drawn to, the sets or the individual plates?

UberChic Beauty Holiday Jingle and Collection 21 Stamping Plate Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  We've officially come to the season of holiday stamping plates.  UberChic Beauty recently released their third holiday plate, Holiday Jingle plate, filled with all sorts of lovely holiday and winter images and I was lucky enough to get to play with it.  It's really put me in the holiday mood.

Along with the new Holiday plate, came Collection 21, the latest 3 plate set.  Brittany's collections are what made me fall in love with UberChic at the beginning and I haven't stopped loving them.  I've done a couple manis with each of the plate.  I hope you like them even half as much as I enjoyed using them!
