UberChic Beauty Op Art Stamping Plate Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have one of UberChic Beauty's latest stamping plates to share with you.  This Op Art Magic plate is right up my alley for the type of images I like.  I did have to ask Brittany why it was called Op Art - it's a mix of Optical Illusion and Pop Art (I so should have been able to figure that out on my own).  I love this type of swirly optical illusion images.  I love them so much that I did three manis already using this plate, all sparkly and all worn out into the real world as full manis.  That, in itself, speaks volumes about how much I like this plate!

KBShimmer Color4Nails Exclusives Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have swatches of a couple of polishes from one of my all time favorite brands - KBShimmer.  These two gorgeous shades are exclusive to Color4Nails, a great international stockist. I have been a fan of Color4Nails and KBShimmer since almost the beginning of my nail polish hobby so it's great to see them pairing up for these shades.  Both are very pretty, very wearable colors so I hope you keep reading to hear my thoughts.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Inspiration

Hey there!  This week our 40 Great Nail Art Ideas theme is Inspiration.  I remembered that UberChic Beauty has a lot really inspirational phrases on her plates so that's where I headed to be inspired.  After going through all of my plates, I decided that there could be no better inspiration than a simple reminder to be happy.

The Digit-al Dozen does August Birthdays: Pop Art Nails

Hey there!  The Digit-al Dozen has started a new tradition to celebrate each other's birthdays.  Each month, the birthday girls will join up and pick a piece of art to inspire our nails.  Unfortunately I had to miss last month but I'm in for this month.  This month, it is our friends Amanda from Lady Maid Nails and Tamara from Canadian Nail Art Fantatic (my fellow Canadians!) who are celebrating.  Happy birthday ladies!  I hope it turns out to be a great year for you!

The Digit-al Dozen does Negative Space: Day 5 - Orange Tie Dye

Hey there!  Yesterday I mentioned that I tried to combine the fifth and final day of The Digit-al Dozen's Negative Space week with my prompts for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas.  This week we're all doing orange manis and I had the personal prompt of tie dye.  Do you know how hard it is to combine tie dye and negative space and orange?!  Let me tell ya, it's really freaking hard.  But I tried and here's what I came up with.  It did end up growing on me as I wore it but these are two themes I hope to never have to combine again...

The Digit-al Dozen does Negative Space: Day 4 - Negative Space Stamping

Hey there!  Today is totally my cheat day for this month's Digit-al Dozen theme.  We're doing negative space manis which should mean there's naked nail showing but, since I'm always going on about how much I like negative space stamping, particularly UberChic Beauty's negative space images, how could I NOT include one this week.  Plus, as a confession, I may have done this one back in February and just hadn't posted it yet.  Since I've been so busy lately, having to do one less mani this month definitely made my decision for me!

The Digit-al Dozen does Negative Space: Day 3 - Triangles and Stripes

Hey there!  Today's Digit-al Dozen negative space look was created all willy nilly.  I'm not sure I knew what I wanted to do but I had some triangle vinyls that I knew I could use so I whipped this up. It doesn't look particularly creative so I'm sure it was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest along the way but I didn't make note of any one particular mani so, if this is something you've done, I'm so sorry I didn't credit you!  Please comment and I'll be sure to edit this if it was yours that I've drooled over.

The Digit-al Dozen does Negative Space: Day 2 - Mosaic Nails

Hey there!  It's the second day of the Digit-al Dozen Negative Space theme.  Today's nail art was created while relaxing at the cabin during my vacation last month.  It was shortly after the amazing @ane_li passed away and I was devouring her instagram photos.  I was inspired by a mosaic look that she had done ages ago and decided to try my hand at a freehand mosaic myself.  Unfortunately I didn't have many tools at the cabin but I still think these turned out not so bad.

The Digit-al Dozen does Negative Space: Day 1 - Pokemon Nail Art

Hey there!  It's a new Digit-al Dozen week...woohoo!  This month we're doing Negative Space, a theme that is always a challenge to me simply because my nails are so darn stained and I'm too embarrassed to show them.  But I (more or less) have enough manis done to participate this week while being sneaky enough to hide most of the yellow.  I couldn't wait to post this one even though it's the most recent one I've done.  I totally jumped on the Pokemon Go bandwagon as soon as I could (yay Team Instinct!) and, after seeing Chalkboard Nail's Disneyland nails I wanted to do the same for Pokemon.  For any of the players out there, I hope you can tell what these are and, for anyone else, I hope you think they're at least kinda cute.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things In The Water

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have the latest Nail Art Ideas post with the theme of "things in the water".  In reality, this is a continuation of Wednesday's Bundle Monster Hangloose Gift Set review.  I had said that this set also included 4 sheets of water decals.  The ones I chose to try out happened to be water-themed and I thought they'd go great for today's theme.  I used them over a gradient that I attempted to opal-ize (yes, I just made up a word) and I thought it turned out really pretty.

Bundle Monster Hangloose Gift Box Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have such a fun Bundle Monster collection to review.  This summer they released a Hangloose Gift Box (Set 2) full of fun nail art goodies.  In it are at 10 piece stamping plate collection, beach-themed nail studs, iridescent stamping polishes and 4 sets of water decals (which I will be reviewing later this week - you'll see why I'm separating them then).  I'm consistently impressed with Bundle Monster's creativity and this set brings it to a new level.  It's called a gift box so you could buy it for someone else but who says you can't buy yourself a gift too?  Hopefully this collage of the stamping I did with this collection entices you to read all about it...

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Yellow & Silver

Hey there!  I hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.  I'm sorry I'm late with this week's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas post.  Life's been crazy.  I even currently have naked nails...gasp!  But on this lovely Sunday afternoon I have a few minutes to just sit and write up a quick post.  This week we're have a color prompt - yellow & silver.  Those are two colors I would probably never have thought to use together but I ended up really liking the outcome.  I had the personal prompt of "tape mani" so I busted out the old school striping tape and did this up.

Mrs. P's Potions ONEders Swatches & Stamping

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a really exciting collection set to be released this Saturday called ONEders.  It's exciting to me because it's from a local indie brand, Mrs. P's Potions, AND they're one-coater cremes that are formulated to stamp beautifully.  Bree (aka Mrs. P) asked me to swatch them as an avid stamper who just happens to live less than 10 minutes from her and I jumped at the chance.  I was so excited to use them that I even did all this testing while I was on vacation at the cabin.  Let me tell you, these are fantastic.  I'm accustomed to using stamping-specific polish that would never be able to be worn alone but these definitely rival them in terms of vibrance and ease of use.  But, word to the wise, do use a base coat with these.  They're so packed full of pigment that they do pose the risk of staining.
