80's Nail Art

Hey there!  Seems like I've been doing a lot of decade-themed nail art lately.  I've done the 60's and the 70's and today we can add the 80's onto the list.  One of the 52 Week Pick 'n Mix themes this week is 80's so I found this neat-o pattern on Pinterest and decided to freehand it onto my nails.

The base I used for this is Rica Robin's Egg Blue.  I love these Rica polishes.  Good for stamping and so smooth and opaque as regular polish.  This is two coats plus HK Girl.

I freehanded the yellow using Rica's Mellow Yellow* using a small nail art brush and then added the black shadows and white lines using acrylic paint and an even smaller nail art brush.  And topped it all with HK Girl again.

I don't know about you but I think these look totally 80's.  They reminded me of my childhood.  My sister said they weren't 80's but what does she know...she was born at the end of the decade!  Maybe I should do the 90's soon...the decade I love the most.

*Rica Mellow Yellow was previously sent for review from Color4Nails.

'Til next time...
