31DC2014 Day 30 - Inspired by a tutorial

Hey there! Second last day of the 31 Day Challenge.  I'm happy to say that I've done all the prompts and I even managed to get them done a couple days in advance so I wouldn't miss any.  These were actually the last ones I did and I ended up wearing them all weekend because I couldn't bring myself to 1.  take them off because I loved them and 2. do my nails one more time.  This challenge is definitely challenging!

The tutorial I picked today was the scaled gradient from the amazing Simply Nailogical.  Everything she puts out is awesome.  And she gets a few bonus points for being a fellow Canadian, haha!

Instead of starting with a white base like she does, I started with one of my gradient colours, Cirque Cerrillos.  This is two coats plus top coat.  I can't believe I haven't worn this one before after how bad I was itching to get it when it was released.

Then I just followed Cristine's tutorial.  I used the single chevron Nail Vinyls for the guide and Orly Liquid Vinyl for the black.

You can see where I didn't tape off the first gradient good enough in a couple of spots.  Lesson learnt for next time.

This is also the longest you'll probably ever see my nails.  I also challenged myself this month not to file them too much to see how long I could grow them because I love seeing the longer nails on other ladies.  But they were driving me crazy so I chopped them off last night.  I can type again!

'Til next time...
