Born Pretty Store Stamping Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a stamping plate and polish review for Born Pretty Store.  I haven't reviewed a Born Pretty product in ages but I'm more than happy to.  They are certainly a go-to nail art supply store when I'm looking for quality, inexpensive products.  That being said, since they are based in Asia, orders do take awhile to appear in my mail box but I'm rarely disappointed once I receive them.  They sent me 2 stamping plates and 2 chameleon stamping polishes to try out so let's take a look!

BP-X52 Stamping Plate
6 cm x 6 cm stamping plate
$2.19 USD

BP-X52 is obviously a butterfly plate (and I do love me some butterfly nails) with 6 full nail images.  Born Pretty Store certainly makes good quality stamping plates at a low consumer price.  I had no issues picking up any of these images.  I forgot to measure them but I'd venture a guess that the images measure around 18 x 25 mm since that's the size of images on similar plates I have.

Here I used Cirque Colors Cloud Nine as the base and did reverse stamping with Painted Polish Stamped In Chocolate filled with Emily de Molly Chrome Buttons plus Vibrant Vinyls top coat.

6 mL bottle
$4.59 USD

Moonlit is a blue multichrome stamping polish. The chameleon factor isn't that apparent but there is a slight blue-green shift there.  You definitely need to use these polishes over a darker coloured base for them to really pop.  The formula is on the thin side but it still seemed to stamp without a problem.  I used it with the BP-X52 stamping plate over OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw (one of my favourite dark blue cremes but with such a terrible name to type out).  I think it resulted in a simple but pretty mani.

6 x 6 cm plate
$1.99 USD

BP-X46 mostly has flame style images, reminiscent of 90's tattoos.  As someone who grew up in the 90's, these are pretty nostalgic.  I'm glad I don't have them permanently etched on my body but I'll happily wear these images on my nails!

For this mani I used Zoya Astrid (a gold foil polish) as my base and did gradient stamping with Mundo de Unas Red, Orange and Yellow for the flames.  I loved the result since it looks more like the gold is the stamped part.

6 mL bottle
(currently sold out)

I have to say that the preview photos I saw of Mars are very different from what I received.  The photos appear to be more red/gold but this polish leans more towards the brown/bronze end of the spectrum for me.  The is a slight gold shift but the main color is a metallic brown.  This one gave me some issues picking up the smaller individual images.  If using BP X-46, I'd suggest using a thicker stamping polish for those since Mars also has a same thinner formula that Moonlit has.  I stamped it over black (A England Camelot) and finished with Vibrant Vinyls top coat.

That's all for today.  I wasn't particularly impressed with the Chameleon stamping polishes but the plates I received were good.  I've purchased other Born Pretty stamping polishes and have been pleased so they're certainly not a write off for stamping polish.  I'd just recommend being careful in your selection.  Checking out the customer images they have on their website is very helpful.

'Til next time...
