The Digit-al Dozen does White - Moonflowers

Hey there!  For my third Digit-al Dozen "white" nail art, I wanted to do some white flowers.  I suppose I could've done any floral nails in white, but I remembered that moonflowers are apparently white.  I don't think I've ever actually seen a moonflower but I love the Moonflower Polish brand so I thought I'd combine the polish with the nail art.  I tried with all my might to find a stamping plate that would work but, can you believe, I couldn't find a single moonflower image in all my plates?!  So I used the Moonflower Polish bottle and attempted to freehand them.

Since Moonflowers apparently bloom at night (hence their name) I wanted a dark base.  Moonflower Polish Mystique made the perfect inky, nighttime base.

I did the leaves/vines with Moonflower Polish Verde and Dark Green.  The flowers were done with Dia (which I'm almost out of so I really need to buy more), Tortuga, Gris and Amarillo.  Most of these are from the Rainbow Cremes collection.  If you like nail art, you should really own these.  They're so opaque!

I know I'm not a freehand nail artist but I hope these look at least a bit like their inspiration.  Doing them gave me even more respect for those of you who can freehand.  I don't understand how people get so much detail on their nails.  Even with my smallest brush, it's still so clunky!  I have one more freehand look this week, then back to stamping where I belong.

'Til next time...
