My Mani Box April 2018 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I'm not sure everyone has heard of My Mani Box, the nail art subscription box dreamed up by the geniuses at Beautometry.  Each month contains 2 MoYou London stamping plates (you can pick regular or XL image sizes), stamping accessories and more nail art goodies.  Every month is different...how fun!  I believe the box I received for review was April's box which, in addition to the plates, contained a full size indie polish, a hand scrub and two jars of square loose glitter.  Since April is long gone, if you were to order now, this wouldn't be the box you receive but yours might be even cooler.  The really nice thing about this box is that you don't need to subscribe for any set amount of time.  If you just want to try it out, you can purchase a single month.  But multiple month subscriptions are also available for a reduced price.  It's up to you!

MoYou London Lace 05

MoYou London were the first really high quality stamping plates I invested in and I still love them.  It's good to see their plates are still so good.  To use Lace 05, I did a gradient of the Girly Bits Cosmetics May COTM polishes, Slushie Lips & Tips and Summer Crush (both of which are seriously stunning).  I stamped with Hit The Bottle Snowed In over that for a bright twist on a lace mani (which I usually do in more neutral colors).

MoYou London Happy Birthday 02

This plate is perfect if you like wearing your celebrations on your nails.  I used it over A England Camelot with reverse stamping.  I stamped with Esmaltes da Kelly Dolly and filled the images with Flufi, Tris, Faisca, Bruce, Joanna, Chili and Tuco.  It's a full rainbow birthday mani!

'Ard As Nail Pizzazz

'Ard As Nails is a new-to-me indie brand out of the UK and I have to say I was really happy with my first impression.  Pizzazz is a medium pink linear holo with microglitter (I know that because I wore this as a full mani without a peel off base *sigh*).  This was two coats plus Glisten & Glow top coat.  Application was easy though I did notice there may have been a couple spots where the glitter might have left a bit of texture.

Loose Glitter

The box I received also contained two ~1 gram jars of 2 mm square glitter.  The first was a rose coloured glitter which I used in a glitter gradient over A England Cathy.  I just applied a non-quick dry top coat over Cathy and dabbed on the glitter with a fan brush.  Since I have so many glitters, I could've done without this product BUT it is the first square glitter in my collection so I'm keeping it!

The second jar of glitter was a clear-ish iridescent glitter which I used over a gradient of OPI Super Trip-i-cal-i-fiji-istic and Essence Black Is Back.  Since it's iridescent, the color really pops over the black part of the gradient.

Soap Dodger Foaming Hand Scrub

The final product was a real trick.  It comes from the same maker as the 'Arg As Nails polish but under a different brand name.  This is Soap Dodger's Foaming Hand Scrub.  I'm showing the list of ingredients in case you have any sensitivities.  The scent was like peach or apricots and it contains raspberry seeds that act as an exfoliant.  It stores as a soft soap so it's easy to grab a chunk and give your hands a scrub.  This hasn't left my sink since I got it.  I've already used about half of it.  I love it!

If you're into nail art and subscription boxes, My Mani Box is definitely for you.  To me, it's so much fun to get a little surprise just for you!  I personally really enjoyed this box, even more than the previous one I reviewed.  Shockingly, I think the Foaming Hand Scrub is my favourite part, simply because it's not something I would have thought to purchase for myself.  If you're interested in getting this month's box, Each month there is a pre-order available from the 20th of the current month to the 19th of the next month, but don't wait because quantities are limited.

Available for pre-order from My Mani Box
$35 USD/month (price is reduced when multi-month subscription is purchased)
Contains approximately $50 worth of products

'Til next time...
