Maniology Mani X Me Box July 2019

Affiliate Code

Hey there!  I hope everyone is having a great day.  I know I've been saying I'm pretty behind in my blogging because of general life stuff.  In fact I'm so far behind that I didn't get to play with this month's Mani X Me Box until just last night and it's the last day to order it.  In fact, it might be too late today to get the Metamorphosis box but, if you email them, the lovely folks at Maniology might hook you up.  For anyone who doesn't know, the Mani X Me box is a monthly subscription box with 2 exclusive plates, 2 polishes and an extra.  July's box was all about bugs, both the creepy-crawly kind and the pretty kind.  I really liked this month's plates so I'm disappointed in myself for not getting to it sooner.  Hopefully you can still get your hands on it and, if you can, please use the coupon code COPY10 to save $5 off your first box.

Crystalis

Crystalis is a pale green-leaning yellow creme polish.  The formula is pretty thin so it doesn't stamp very opaquely but it does apply nicely.  Swatch shows 3 coats plus top coat.

Wild Wings

Wild Wings has a finish I haven't seen before from Maniology.  It's a shimmer-y (almost metallic or duochrome) fuchsia pink.  Over white it's a lovely metallic pink and over black it's more of a purple shimmer.  Again, not the greatest stamping polish but certainly a pretty polish on its own.  Shown is two coats plus top coat.

Scarab Wings Powder

This month's extra was a green chrome nail powder.  This is used most easily over a no-wipe gel top coat but I decided to try it over plain black polish (with just ever-so-slightly tacky top coat) and for stamping for my first mani.  It worked great both ways.

MXM0011

MXM011 is all full nail image, mostly of close ups of insect patterns.  I've always loved butterfly wing nails so this was right up my alley.

MXM012

MXM012 has a mix of smaller and larger insect images in really neat patterns.  The larger images are all significantly larger than my nails but, if I were more creative, I think some really cool manis could come from this plate.

Overall, I truly think the Mani X Me box is an excellent buy.  Exclusive plates are always nice to have and it's a great way to build your polish collection.  Usually the stamping polishes are more opaque than this month's are so don't judge based on these two polishes.  But, if you have enough polish, there is always the option of the Express version which is less expensive and skips the polish.
