The Digit-al Dozen does Book - The Great Gatsby

Hey there!  For Day 3 of The Digit-al Dozen's Book Week, I did a book I absolutely hated, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.  Now, it's bold of me to say that since it's a classic but I more or less detested every character in it.  That being said, it's one of my favourite movies.  I love how Baz Luhrmann adapts stories to movies.  Plus the soundtrack is amazing.  So my nails are a mix of the book cover plus the movie, with it's art deco motifs.

In case you haven't seen the book cover, here's a shot of it:

I do like the girls gold crying eyes and almost feature-less face so that's what I tried to mimic.  And I just so happened to have bought a plate (Clear Jelly Stamper CJS V-14) that worked perfectly for the eyes and the tears.

I used KBShimmer Low and Be Bold as a base color and did the stamping with Mundo de Unas Bronze, Black and White.  The lips were my poor attempt at a bit of freehand with Mundo de Unas Reddish and Black.

For the outer nails, I used UberChic Beauty Art Deco Flair and Mundo de Unas Bronze.  If you check out the movie poster, it has a similar design.  All the Art Deco plates are filled with images like this.  They're lovely!  And to finish, I used OPI matte top coat.

That's all today!  Time to get myself home and get some food into me.  Today has been non-stop!

'Til next time...
