Maniology Daisy Downer (M026 and M027) Stamping Plate Review

Affiliate Code

Hey there!  Yikes, a whole week without blogging.  Last week was a hella work week but I think this week will be easier so it'll be blog central over here!  Starting with a look at some of my favourite new plates from Maniology, the Daisy Downer plates.  These are the grumpy flower plates and I think they are absolutely hilarious.  I think we all think of flowers as pretty and girly but these little guys are angry...in the best way possible!  I know I certainly feel like this sometimes at least!  If they strike you like they did me, feel free to use the coupon code COPY10 to save yourself 10% on your next Maniology order.

M026 A Flower With Feelings

I love the mix-n-match feel of this plate.  There's so many flower heads, stems and faces and speech bubbles and text that you can combine in endless ways.  But there's also some crabby flowers all on their own.

For my first mani, I went the mix-n-match route.  I did reverse stamping for them using Mundo de Unas Black filled with Sally hansen White On Time and I-rush Luck and Maniology Nikko (from last month's Mani X Me box) applied over Maniology's Sassy.  Aren't those faces too darn cute?!

My second mani features the phrase that spoke the most to me..."too people-y outside".  I think that one is so funny.  So I made a little flower rushing home to get back indoors!  Here I used a gradient of KBShimmer Eyes White Open, Little Boy Hue and Sky Jinks as the base (and Eclipse on the other nails).  For the reverse stamping here I used Mundo de Unas Black or Dark Grey filled with KBShimmer Chick Me Out, Chilly Pepper, Owl Miss You, How You Dune?, Oh My Ganache and Ready For A Good Lime.  I added a bit of Owl Miss You at the tips as well.  I cannot even begin to say how much I loved this mani.  I promise I'm quite a social person but sometimes it really is just too people-y out there!

M027 is very different from the first plate.  The grumpiness extends past just flowers on this plate.  There's even grumpy seeds and a watering can of tears.  The main part of this plate is a big buffet style image but there's also a strip of flowers at the bottom, that I used for my first mani.

I think my first design looks all cutesy until you look closely at the angry daisies.  Here I used 3 coats of OPI Samoan Sand as a nude base and then did reverse stamping with Moonflower Polish Noche filled with Amapola, Crepusculo, Mariposa, Tortuga, Aquamarina,  Oro and Dia before finishing with Vibrant Vinyls top coat.  All this tiny painting definitely took a bit of time but I think it's worth it.

And lastly, I wanted to do at least one mani that wasn't reverse stamping (though I do think the plate would work best with either reverse stamping or leadlighting).  I did a water marble of pipe dream polish Atrament and Sally Hansen Rapid Red and Mellow Yellow.  That I stamping with Mundo de Unas White and finished with OPI matte top coat.

That's my look at the Daisy Downer plates.  I really hope more come into this series since it turns out I love grumpy flowers!  The plates stamped really easily and they're certainly unique!  The only downside is that I feel they do work best as reverse stamping or decals.  But if you have a bit of extra time for that, I'm sure you'll love these as much as I do!
