Hey there! It's New Year's Eve and while everyone else might be getting ready for New Year's parties, I'm sitting around in my PJ's, watching Food Network and blogging and I couldn't be happier! Actually, I had a hectic morning since my camera died last night at about 1 am. I was in full panic mode, especially since I couldn't find a DSLR repair shop in Edmonton that wouldn't send the camera to Ontario to be fixed. I simply couldn't be without a camera for 6 weeks. I have a nail habit I need to take photos of and I have no ability to take decent picture with my phone! But I found a second hand one that's practically new (according to the numbers of photos that has been taken on it) at a store so I rushed out to get it this morning. I think it was the right move since repairing mine would likely have cost almost as much.
Luckily I did all these manis yesterday before it died so I knew I could get these posted. Today I'm sharing UberChic Beauty's Numbers 01 and Alphabet 01 stamping plates. These plates were released awhile ago but I didn't get them so I received them (along with the new plates) this time around. Both have the whole range of numbers/letters in numerous fonts so there should be something for any occasion. And of course the quality of the etching is great. Now onto the mani's I did with them!

Of course I couldn't have a number plate in my hands and not do a New Year's mani with it! For these I used Vapid Lacquer Fiiive Goooldeeen Riiings! with some reverse stamping of Mundo de Unas Black and White. I think this is my ideal New Year's mani. I love gold, black and white!
Since I don't really have any special dates coming up, I wasn't sure what else to do with a numbers plate so I did an Edmonton Oilers-inspired mani. Connor McDavid (our captain and superstar) is number 97 so I did his number with the Oilers colors using Picture Polish Citrus, Blue and KBShimmer Eyes White Open. I combined the numbers with A LOT of dots which made these fun and playful.

For the alphabet plate, I didn't words with 4 letters or less. Since most the four letter words I can think of aren't blog-appropriate, I thought I'd honour the brand. I do love UberChic products so I was more than happy to put the name on my nails. I did a gradient of Girly Bits Hit and Mist, Gettin Figgy With It and Eggplant One On Me and stamped with Hit and Mist and Little Black Dress and finished with OPI matte top coat.
For a second alphabet mani, I thought "why not, I'll do my own blog name too". So I did a colorful base (since I do love color) with streaks of the Essie Silk Watercolors (Point of Blue, No Shrinking Violet, Pen & Inky, Highest Bidder, Art New-Beau, Muse, Myself and Blush Stroke) over a white base and did more reverse stamping (with Mundo de Unas Black and Sally Hansen White On Time). I even used the little accents that are around the UC logo on the plate to fill this out.
