Bundle Monster House of Horrors Stamping Plate Set

Press  Sample

Hey there!  It's time for more spooky stamping from me, this time using the Bundle Monster House of Horrors stamping plate set.  I think quite a few people got some of these for free in a little promo they had running recently.  I was lucky enough to get the entire set to review so I thought it'd be a good time to post these in case folks need a bit of inspiration.  This set is really eclectic and manages to be kinda scary without having any of the typical Halloween images like ghosts or witches or jack o'lanterns.  That's impressive!

Here's a quick shot of all ten plates in the House of Horrors set but if you check them out here on the Bundle Monster site you can zoom in on them.  These are Bundle Monster's small square plates.  They measure 2 x 2 inches and all stamped easily.  Since there aren't really any standard full nail images, I can't tell you image sizes.  They're really all over the plate.  I can tell you the stripes on the clown plate was too small for my nails while something like the jars on the Frankenstein plate are quite large.

BM-S241 and 243

"Normal is an illusion.  What is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly."  I'd never heard this quote before but I love it!  So I based my mani around it using BM-S241 and 243 over a gradient of Sinful Colours  Snow Me White, Essie Now and Zen, elf Meadow Mist and Color Club Muse-ical.  I stamped with Mundo de Unas Black.  The fly is actually a bee on the plate 241 but I filled in the stripes and now it's magically a fly!  I finished with Glisten & Glow matte top coat.

BM-S244

I'm currently reading It (I know, I'm years late) so I finally understand the idea of scary clowns.  I paired up lacc 1945 with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Black on Black for these.  This is the striped image that was too short for my nails so I had to stamp it twice.  Thank goodness for clear stampers.  That would've been impossible for me with a regular stamper.

BM-S246

Pretty Serious Haddonfield is one of the few orange glitters I have.  I've never seen the Halloween movies but I picked the scary dude that seemed closest to the movie to add to the graveyard (instead of Freddy who is there on the plate).  I have no idea if that's who he is supposed to be but he works for me!  I did some reverse stamping with Mundo de Unas Black, Essie Now and Zen and elf Meadow Mist and topped with HK Girl.

BM-S247

I really like this plate even though it isn't particularly scary to me.  I used Mundo de Unas Light Grey and White over ILNP Interstellar (on a black base).  I think this plate could easily be used year round.

BM-S249

While I do like all the vampire imagery on BM-S249 (I've a big fan of the vampire genre for a billion years) my mani with this plate really fell short.  I did some simple stamping with Essie Good As Gold over KBShimmer Wine Not? and topped with HK Girl.  This plate deserves better!

BM-S250

My final mani today was actually the first one I tried out.  This is a mummy-centric plate and I opted to use just the bandages over a base of Picture Polish Beige, sponged with browns and greys (Trust Fund Beauty $12 Latte, L’Oreal Greycian Goddess, NYC Brownstone and OPI Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh).  For the stamping I wanted to create space between the bandages so I did some reverse stamping with Moyra Dark Brown and filled the spaces with black.  But after I applied that, the black looked a big dark so I painted over it in dark brown (though it still looks black).  Again I finished with matte top coat.

Hopefully I've given you a few more Halloween mani designs.  I do think this set of plates is a nice alternative to some of the cuter plates we frequently see.  This one has more imagery that reminds me of scary movies, which I like even if I don't watch many of them!
