The Digital Dozen does Four/40 Great Nail Art Ideas does Red, Green and Yellow

Hey there!  No, it's not Christmas yet, despite the appearance of my nails in today's post.  Today I combined the Digit-al Dozen Four theme with 40 Great Nail Art Ideas prompts of Red, Green, Yellow and water marble/water spotted for this four-polish water marble.  I can't be alone in always seeing Christmas anytime red and green are together, can I?  Even the yellow and silver that are included in this marble just add to the holiday feel.  Despite the unseasonable look, I'm not unhappy with how the marbling turned out.  At first I had tried a red, green and yellow marble in four different patterns.  I don't think I ever had a more frustrating nail night.  Took forever, had to redo a bunch of nails and it still looked awful.  I deleted those photos so I never have to be reminded and decided to do this one instead.  At least I know I can usually do a stripe-y marble with reasonable success even if I did end up with red everywhere!

To start my four coloured marble, I used two coats of pipe dream polish Prism Drops.  This is a silver holo that marbles.  I bought it quite a while ago but I hadn't tried it for marbling yet.  I was skeptical but it really does spread.

The red, green and yellow are all Sally Hansen polishes.  They are Insta Dri Rapid Red and I-Rush Luck and Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow.  I knew that other Insta Dri polishes I have do spread so I thought these ones would too and luckily I was right.  I had to buy a new Rapid Red since mine was almost empty but that just shows I use it.  I also used Prism Drops in the marbling but the red really overpowered it.  The silver is pretty sparse so I wasn't fully surprised.  Disappointed but not surprised.

That's it for the Digit-al Dozen's Fourth Anniversary week.  Next month we have a theme that is right up my alley, I hope I don't screw it up!

Down below you can find the rest of final DD manis of the month and the other red, green and yellow manis.  There's only a couple weeks left in this challenge.  It'll be interesting to see how many people see it through to the end.

'Til next time...
