HPB Present Dusty Succulents with UberChic Beauty Mini Succulents Plate

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today I have a bit of a 2-for-1 post.  When I saw the this month's Hobby Polish Bloggers' theme was Dusty/Muted Colors, I knew I wanted to do something with the UberChic Beauty Succulents mini plate that I had just received to review.  I love succulent plants, especially the ones that have that purple/green hazy look to them so that's what I've tried to mimic here with a smoosh marble for this months' link up.  I have no green thumb...like zero!  But when I was in grad school I did manage to keep a few succulents alive for a good long time.  I've always loved their squishy, firm look...and the fact that you barely need to water them, haha!

The Succulents plate isn't the standard UberChic Beauty plate.  Instead, it is one of the new mini plates.  It measures 6 x 12 cm, has a white plastic backing and has images of all sorts of sizes.  As with the regular sized UberChic plates, the etching quality is superb so if you like succulent plates and nail stamping, this plate can't be missed.  There's even a negative space image.  Shocking that I didn't use it for today's look since I love her negative space images.

For my dusty succulent mani, I started with a sort of dusty mint green base of Orly Jealous, Much?  When that was dry I did a squish/smoosh marble with a squishy stamper and OPI Thanks a Windmillion (pictured), Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Gosh Rebel Yell, China Glaze Tart-y for the Party and Below Deck and Wet n Wild Undercover.

For the succulent stamping I used Mundo de Unas Military Green (which is getting a surprising amount of use from me lately considering how little I like military green in real life).  To add to the dusty look I finished with Essie Matte About You.

I realized doing this that I don't have a lot of dusty coloured nail polishes so I'm definitely going to have to keep my eyes open for some.  If you have any favourites that you'd like to recommend, I'm all ears!  In the meantime, you can find UberChic Beauty's links below if you're interested in the Succulents plate.  And below that you can find everyone else's dusty nails for our enjoyment.
