The Digital Dozen does Four/40 Great Nail Art Ideas does Red, Green and Yellow

Hey there!  No, it's not Christmas yet, despite the appearance of my nails in today's post.  Today I combined the Digit-al Dozen Four theme with 40 Great Nail Art Ideas prompts of Red, Green, Yellow and water marble/water spotted for this four-polish water marble.  I can't be alone in always seeing Christmas anytime red and green are together, can I?  Even the yellow and silver that are included in this marble just add to the holiday feel.  Despite the unseasonable look, I'm not unhappy with how the marbling turned out.  At first I had tried a red, green and yellow marble in four different patterns.  I don't think I ever had a more frustrating nail night.  Took forever, had to redo a bunch of nails and it still looked awful.  I deleted those photos so I never have to be reminded and decided to do this one instead.  At least I know I can usually do a stripe-y marble with reasonable success even if I did end up with red everywhere!

The Digit-al Dozen does Four - Four-Colored Leaves with UberChic Beauty Lovely Leaves

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today's Digit-al Dozen Four post comes with an UberChic Beauty review and easily my favourite mani of the week -  actually my favourite mani in a long, long time.  I did 2 designs with the Lovely Leaves plate that each have a take on the Four theme.  For the first one (my favourite) I did a four color gradient as the base.  The second one has four colors in total, one base color and 3 colors of autumn leaves.  I admit that I couldn't wait to get this plate since doing Autumn leaves manis are pretty much the only thing I like about fall - I don't drink pumpkin spice, I wear sweaters year round, even in summer and I hate the color yellow.  But fall nails?  Those I love!  You can find out all the details for these two manis, as well as a couple other new products from UberChic Beauty down below.

The Digit-al Dozen does Four - Card Suits

Hey there!  For today's Digit-al Dozen "Four" mani, I did one of the first things that I thought of when I was brainstorming things that come in fours - the four card suits.  Easy since I thought for sure I'd easily be able to find stamping images that matched all four suits.  I was wrong.  I had to dig through so many stamping plates to find four images that would at least sort of match.  Usually I'm pretty proud of myself for knowing my nail collection inside and out but this one proved that I have not yet memorized every stamping plate I own!  Keep reading to see all the details.

The Digit-al Dozen does Four - 4 Gradiented Stamps

Hey there!  For my second "Four" mani, I have to come clean.  I actually did these for a previous DD theme, didn't use them and then realized they'd work for this week's theme.  That always feels a bit like cheating, doesn't it?  But I did really love this mani.  It was so simple but looked really cool.  I should put more gradient stamping in my life.  Like yesterday, this mani has two takes on the "Four" theme.  I have 4 different stamping images (at least that you can see in my pics) and 4 colors in total.

The Digit-al Dozen does 4 - Four Seasons Stamping

Hey there!  It's time for a new Digit-al Dozen theme.  This September marks our group's fourth anniversary so we're doing "4".  I think you'll see a few variations on the theme this month - 4 colors, 4 patterns, anything else involving 4's.  I'm starting mine with the 4 seasons.  I bought this stamping plate representing the 4 seasons AGES ago and am only now trying it out.  It didn't turn out as great as I had envisioned but I did do 4 different patterns to go wit the 4 seasons so I had to put it in this week.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Books

Hey there!  This week our 40 Great Nail Art Ideas group (which has sadly dropped to much fewer than 40) has the theme of "Books".  Usually I'd go with a general book look but for today's post I wanted to do something inspired by the book I just finished last week - The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.  I won't say anything about the plot except to say that a painting of the same name by Carel Fabritius is involved.  I'm so uncultured I knew nothing about this painting but after looking it up, I really like it so I used it as my inspiration.  Obviously I can't do anything so spectacular on my nails so I used stamping as best I could.

Clear Jelly Stamper Review Plus Giveaway!

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Welcome to the start of a new work week (for those of you who had a long weekend like I did).  I'm in love with the products I'm reviewing today from Clear Jelly Stamper but I'm mortified at how long it has taken me to get this post up.  I received these products earlier this summer but, with the potential of a Canada Post strike, I delayed myself in posting these since I was including a giveaway.  And then I forgot.  But I'm finally posting them today and, since I'm relatively sure there won't be a strike, I'm including a giveaway of three Clear Jelly Stamper plates.  When Debbie sent me The Big Bling stamper/brush and CJS-13, 14 and 15 she also included a few plates I already had (CJS-08, 10 and LC-01) so she said I could do a giveaway with them.  Entry information can be found at the bottom of this post.  It will be open until 11:59 pm next Monday so enter now.
