26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Christmas Childhood Memories

Press  Sample

Hey there!  For what is likely going to be my last post before Christmas, I have my contribution to the 26 Great Nail Art Challenges for this week.  The theme is "Christmas (or other holiday) Childhood Memories".  My family doesn't have any really unique traditions or anything, just the standard cookies left out for Santa, turkey dinner and, of course, the Christmas tree.  I loved helping decorate it when I was little.  We had lots of different ornaments that my parents had bought/received over the years.  Now our tree is a bit more uniform but it's still certainly the centrepiece of our Christmas.

Whats Up Nails Winter & Christmas Nail Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I realize I'm cutting it a bit close to Christmas to be posting nail art items available for the holiday season but these were too good not to share.  And there's even some general "winter" items in here which could be used for months yet (at least here in Edmonton).  Since I first tried Whats Up Nails stencils, I really haven't looked back.  The amount of "stick" to them is perfect for me and they're cut in such a way that I usually don't have to pick the little pieces out (there are exceptions which I'll discuss but they're rare).  So I was really excited when I got an envelope with a pile of Christmas and winter stencils...and a little concerned that I wouldn't have time to use them all.  I've been having a lot of fun playing with them and I finally get to show you a bunch of the stencil nail art I've been wearing over the last few weeks, right up until last night.  Prepare to be holiday'ed out!

Bundle Monster The Nutcracker Stamping Plates and Holiday Nail Art Items

Press  Sample

Hey there!  'Tis certainly the season!  I recently received such a nice package of nail art items from Bundle Monster to review and almost all are holiday related so I thought I'd put them in one giant post.  Dearest to my stamping heart was The Nutcracker stamping plate set.  I've seen people directly ask for Nutcracker-related plates so it's awesome that Bundle monster came out with an entire set!  There was also a holiday set of rub-on decals, holographic vinyls and foil nail art stickers (which I believe are actually water decals...at least that's how I used them).  AND, for any of you who suffer from latex allergies but still want mess-free nail art, Bundle Monster has also come out with a latex-free barrier.  This is a big post so let's get to it!

Whats Up Nails Water Marble and Counting Nail Stencils

Hey there!  I haven't been blogging much on Sundays these days but I thought I wanted to post a couple of designs I've done with Whats Up Nails stencils lately before everyone gets fully into the Christmas season.  I've had these water marble stencils for quite awhile but just recently used them with a some colors that look quite autumnal.  I assume not everyone has snow on the ground already like us so maybe there are still people who are enjoying fall colors?  I've also used the Counting Stencils in the paste few weeks.  If you ever need numbers on your nails (New Years Eve, birthdays, etc) these would be awesome!

The Digit-al Dozen does Throwback - Throwback Prompt

Press  Sample

Hey there!  For the fifth and final Throwback of the Digit-al Dozen theme this week, I've thrown back to one of our old themes.  I went back through all the themes we've had since I joined in January 2015 and decided I wanted to tackle Geometric again.  It's a prompt I often have issues with.  But this time I had some Stained Glass Stencils from Whats Up Nails which made it much more bearable!

What's Up Nails Autumn Nail Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  To bring in the new week (and the new month) I have some autumnal Whats Up Nails art to share with you guys today.  Last week I showed a few manis I did with a couple of their fall-themed stamping plates but today I have another type of product they excel at - stencils!  I only have 4 looks I did with these here but there's actually 6 different stencils used: Fall, Owl, Scary Tree, Umbrella, Rain and Apples.  Actually I don't know if these are all supposed to be autumn stencils.  I'm sure the scary trees are meant to be Halloween-themed but I guess I'm a big rebel.  Even if I used the wrong, I hope you like them!

Whats Up Nails Halloween Nail Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I have a bit of extra time this afternoon so I thought I should take advantage of it by showing you guys some of Whats Up Nails Halloween-themed stencils.  I do love the Halloween season so it was fun to get a jump on it this year by playing with these in September.  Plus that gives anybody that is interested enough time to get them in their hands before the big day!  Here I have the Pumpkin Topiary, Fire, Kitty Scratch, Frankenstein's Monster, Boo and Gothic Stencils.  As usual, I was really impressed with the quality of Whats Up Nails stencils.  I think using them has ruined me for some of the older ones I have!  I especially love that they come in different sizes since we don't all have the same sized nails.

Whats Up Nails - City, Citrus, Aztec and Lightning Bolts Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Mine was fun but I think I need another weekend to sleep!  I actually spent all day yesterday playing with some new Whats Up Nails products but today I'm sharing some that I used not quite as recently.  I'm a big fan of their nail stencils so it's a good thing they have such a big variety of them to pick from.  Here I used the City, Citrus, Aztec and Lightning Stencils.  Keep reading to see what I did with them.

KBShimmer Summer Vacation Swatches & Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  School might be back in but that doesn't mean we don't get to keep on wearing bright, fun colors on our nails, right?  Just over a month ago KBShimmer released this collection called Summer Vacation but I will honestly wear these year round.  Color4Nails was nice enough to send them for me to review all of these drool-worthy shades.  Unfortunately, the border held them up for awhile so I didn't get them until last week but they were well worth the wait.  KBShimmer has called this finish "holo glow flake".  I don't know what the magic is but I don't have anything like these.  They have holo flakes which give them sparkle but there's also a shimmer-y metallic look to them that makes them really unique.

Whats Up Nails Aurora Pigment Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Happy Monday folks!  Can you believe that by the end of the week it's going to be September?  Yuck!  Luckily summer is still in full swing here because I still have lots of summer-feeling nail art to share.  Today's post is about something I'm sure all the nail fantatics out there have seen - the new magical unicorn nail powder...at least that's what I call it!  Whats Up Nails recently released their version called Aurora Pigment and I'm in love.  So is everyone around me who has seen it.  I've tried it plain over lots of colors, with rainbow nails underneath, with stencils and it's even currently on my toes.  Don't worry, I won't show my toes but I do have photos of everything else in today's post.  I also have photos in different lighting conditions so I hope I can demonstrate everything you need to know about it here.

The Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres - Fantasy

Press  Sample

Hey there!  It's sadly time for the end of this week's Digit-al Dozen theme of Story Genres.  What have you thought of this week?  Are there any genres we all missed?  For my final look, I went with what is probably one of my favourite genres now - Fantasy.  I haven't always read fantasy books but they've slowly crept into my life and now make up most of my reading, especially if you count anything supernatural as fantasy.  What can I say?  I like my books with just a hint of the unreal.  I keep telling myself I'm going to re-read the Game of Thrones books but it's such a big task that they just sit around looking pretty.  There's no unicorns in Game of Thrones but maybe there should be, haha!

Nail Crazies Unite - Nautical with Whats Up Nails Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I'm once again late with my nail challenge post this week.  I had a super fun, super busy weekend spent with lots of sun and friends.  This week's Nail Crazies Unite theme was Nautical .  I actually have two nautical nail art looks that I've done recently using Whats Up Nails products.  In the first I used the Anchor Stencils and in the second I used four products: Rainforest Magic Shifting Powder, Waves Stencils, Dolphins Stencils and Holographic Powder (previously reviewed here).  If you've read my blog at all in the last few months, you already know I'm a giant fan of their vinyls and their powders so I use them every chance I get.  I particularly love when I get to combine them.  There's lots of photos here so I'll get right to it!

Whats Up Nails Stencils - Clouds, Hypnose, Pumps and Teddy Bears

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I hope all my Canadian and American friends have had themselves a great long weekend, even if we have to be back at work now....ugh!  I don't know what the weather is like where you're at but here in Edmonton it's a 30 C week (86 F) so it feels more like lake weather than work weather.  But since I'm not relaxing by the water, what better time to share with you some of the stencils I've used lately from Whats Up Nails?  I've gotten to review a few of their stencils and if you read those reviews you already know that I absolutely love their stencils!  I don't know what cutting process they use but they always separate easily from the bits you don't want and they stick to the nail perfectly.  Today's post has how I wore the Clouds, Hypnose, Pumps and Teddy Bears.  All four of these stencils are sheets of 12 stencils that measure 22 x 28 mm so they should work great to cover most nail sizes.  A couple of them are discontinued but are still available so get them while you can!

Canada Day Nails 2017

Hey there!  Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks!  It's a big day for Canada.  Today we're celebrating 150 years!  To celebrate I'm sharing my Canada Day mani that I've been wearing since Wednesday.  Elena of Nail Experiments put out a call for us to do manis celebrating the country we love so much and this was my contribution.  She even put together a collage of them which I'll be sharing at the end of this post.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Going On Holiday

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Sorry I disappeared lately.  I've been super busy (that's always the story of summer for me) but I couldn't skip another day because I just had to post the nail art I did for 26 Great Nail Art Ideas theme this week.  The prompt is "Going On Holiday" which was the perfect excuse to put my dream holiday onto my nails using some products from Whats Up Nails.  I combined a few of their stencils with my favourite magic shifting powder, the Sunset powder (which I previously reviewed here).

Dragon Nails with Whats Up Nails Tropic Flakies and Scales Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Well it's just over a month away from the start of  Game of Thrones seventh season and I just couldn't wait to do some dragon nails.  I swear I was going to hold off but I lost all my will power when I was sent a couple of Whats Up Nails products - the Tropic Flakies and the Scales Stencils.  These could've been used for very different nail looks but I was so stuck on dragons that I wore two different dragon designs with them.  But I did also do a flower-y one with the flakies so it's not all destructive mythical creatures.

Whats Up Nails Fairy Powder and Holographic Flakies

Press  Sample

Hey there!  As I was scrolling through Instagram last night before bed I saw that Whats Up Nails currently has a sale on their flakies and powders with the code HOT25.  Since I've found their flakies and powders to be of very high quality compared to the less expensive counterparts from overseas, I thought I should write up review of the last couple I've been able to try - the Fairy Powder and the Holographic Flakies.  If you'd like to get these products at their sale price, you have to act quick.  The sale ends tonight so really you only have about 12 hours to get the sale price.  But honestly, they're worth it at full price too.  I'm a big fan!

The Digit-al Dozen does Rainforest - Lizard Nails

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Today's Digit-al Dozen Rainforest-themed mani is easily my favourite one this week.  And I did these soooooo long ago and have just been waiting to share them for this theme.  I've been reviewing Whats Up Nails products lately and included in my first package of items were these adorable lizard stencils.  Having just watched Planet Earth, I knew that there were some darn cute lizards hanging out in the rainforest and and figured they could go along great with this month's theme.  And I used a couple of Magic Shifting Powders to make them into magical lizards!

Whats Up Nails Floral Designs

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Since spring is finally in full swing around these parts, I figured today would be a great day to post some floral nail designs I've worn recently, all with the help of more Whats Up Nails products.  I've had a few reviews for them lately and I truly have nothing but good things to say about them.  An easy to use website, great communication and, most importantly, quality product. I was originally contacted to try out a few of their stamping plates. Last week I showed how I used their water marble plate (you can see that here) and today I have two new floral plates, A005 and B018.  But while I was posting flowers, I thought I'd also show a couple of flower stencils that they have, the Hibiscus and Bloom Stencils.

Whats Up Nails Sunset Powder and Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I couldn't wait to share this nail art that I wore last week courtesy of Whats Up Nails, a nail art store based in the US.  They sent me quite a few goodies to review including the Magic Shifting Powder in Sunset and some swallow and branch vinyls.  As with the Easter stencils that I showed you last week, these stencils are fool proof.  Keep reading to see how I used these products and to hear me gush over how great they are.
