Haunted House Halloween Nails

Hey there!  Since my "doing nails just for me" time coincides with Halloween time, you can expect a few more Halloween nails from me over the next few days.  Two nights ago I was finishing up the Netflix show The Haunting of Hill House and realized Bees Knees House On Haunted Chill's name was so close that I should combine the polish with the TV show and Halloween.  Does the fact that the show is called The Haunting of Hill House and that there's a movie called House On Haunted Hill get anybody else confused?  Has the world run out of potential horror titles so now they're just jumbling the words around??

Candy Corn Halloween Nail Art

Hey there!  For the first time in ages, I'm all caught up on items to review so I've been getting to do my nails just for funsies.  Since it's Halloween next week, I've done a couple Halloween manis already and have at least two more things I've like to wear.  I'm sure some people are probably tired of Halloween nails but, since it's such a good holiday for nail art, I hope you'll bear with me.  I don't think I've done a candy corn mani since 2015 so I thought it was about time for a new one!

New Years Nails with Whats Up Nail Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I hope everyone had a great Christmas (or Monday, for anyone who doesn't celebrate). Mine was quiet but wonderful.  My family had dinner Christmas Eve so I had no plans for Christmas evening so my bestie and I went and saw Star Wars.  For my first day back on the blog this week I thought it'd be a good time to share a couple of New Year's-themed manis I've done with some Whats Up Nails stencils.  I used the Confetti, City and Confetti stencils for these.  I don't think they're necessarily limited to being worn on New Years (at least I hope not since I did these earlier) but they'd definitely be party appropriate!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Christmas Childhood Memories

Press  Sample

Hey there!  For what is likely going to be my last post before Christmas, I have my contribution to the 26 Great Nail Art Challenges for this week.  The theme is "Christmas (or other holiday) Childhood Memories".  My family doesn't have any really unique traditions or anything, just the standard cookies left out for Santa, turkey dinner and, of course, the Christmas tree.  I loved helping decorate it when I was little.  We had lots of different ornaments that my parents had bought/received over the years.  Now our tree is a bit more uniform but it's still certainly the centrepiece of our Christmas.

The Digit-al Dozen does My Home - Dancing Santa

Hey there!  Since a few of the nail art groups I'm in are having holiday themes this week, I thought I'd do a Christmas-themed mani for my final Digit-al Dozen "My Home" post.  It also happens to be the Nail Crazies United December Holiday day AND the Winter/Christmas month for Nail Challenge Collaborative so it's the perfect day for some holiday-themed stamping.  These were inspired by some dancing Santa's my aunt gave me and my sisters last year.  I don't know how she found three of them (all different) but they're delightfully tacky.  They play music and dance (or skateboard) and are just generally awesome.  I wish I had a video to share but I forgot to take one.

Whats Up Nails Winter & Christmas Nail Stencils

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I realize I'm cutting it a bit close to Christmas to be posting nail art items available for the holiday season but these were too good not to share.  And there's even some general "winter" items in here which could be used for months yet (at least here in Edmonton).  Since I first tried Whats Up Nails stencils, I really haven't looked back.  The amount of "stick" to them is perfect for me and they're cut in such a way that I usually don't have to pick the little pieces out (there are exceptions which I'll discuss but they're rare).  So I was really excited when I got an envelope with a pile of Christmas and winter stencils...and a little concerned that I wouldn't have time to use them all.  I've been having a lot of fun playing with them and I finally get to show you a bunch of the stencil nail art I've been wearing over the last few weeks, right up until last night.  Prepare to be holiday'ed out!

Corn On The Cob Nail Art

Hey there!  Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!  I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday, however you choose to celebrate.  Today's blog post is a fun one.  It's what I actually wore for our Canadian Thanksgiving last month.  My family seems to really love corn so we have it at almost every group meal (we're a meat and potatoes bunch) so I thought I'd do corn nails this year instead of turkey.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Friday The 13th

Hey there!  A couple of weeks ago I worried that there would be no more 26 Great Nail Art Ideas...but we have been resurrected thanks to Cathy and Cheyenne!  Truly, they're such nice women and I'm very grateful that they've taken over managing the group.  And they've come up with a great first theme.  To commemorate the date, we're doing Friday the 13th nails.  I was tempted to do birthday nails since my mom was born on a Friday the 13th but I thought that might be a bit too obscure.  So I went with some bad luck black cat nails instead.

The Digit-al Dozen does Throwback - Throwback Polish

Hey there!  For today's Digit-al Dozen Throwback mani I went with a polish type that we don't see much of anymore - crackle polish!  Remember when this was all the rage?  I have seen some recent-ish nail art done with crackle polish and it looks great but I don't think this will ever get as popular as it once was.  But it works amazingly in this Halloween look I did, inspired by this YouTube video.

Bundle Monster House of Horrors Stamping Plate Set

Press  Sample

Hey there!  It's time for more spooky stamping from me, this time using the Bundle Monster House of Horrors stamping plate set.  I think quite a few people got some of these for free in a little promo they had running recently.  I was lucky enough to get the entire set to review so I thought it'd be a good time to post these in case folks need a bit of inspiration.  This set is really eclectic and manages to be kinda scary without having any of the typical Halloween images like ghosts or witches or jack o'lanterns.  That's impressive!

Canada Day Nails 2017

Hey there!  Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks!  It's a big day for Canada.  Today we're celebrating 150 years!  To celebrate I'm sharing my Canada Day mani that I've been wearing since Wednesday.  Elena of Nail Experiments put out a call for us to do manis celebrating the country we love so much and this was my contribution.  She even put together a collage of them which I'll be sharing at the end of this post.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Love

Hey there!  What with Valentine's Day coming up this Sunday, this week Crumpet's Nail Tarts are doing Love, the sweetest theme ever.  I think when most of us think of love-themed nail art we think of all hearts and flowers.  I included plenty of hearts in my mani for today but I mostly wanted to do nail art inspired by the everlasting kind of love.  The kind that we'd be lucky to find.  Personally I haven't found it yet but one day!

HPB/Sunday Stamping Presents Merry Christmas Nails

Hey there!  Today I have another combo theme.  At this time of year, there's so many holiday themes out there that I decided to combine a few of them since I loved wearing this mani this past week.  First, it's time for the joining together of a great group of nail polish bloggers, the Hobby Polish Bloggers, for this month's link up theme of Holiday/Winter.  Second, it's Sunday which means this week's Adventures in Stamping Sunday challenge of Merry Christmas Nails.  I thought this sparkly Santa/Rudolph mani was fitting for both the themes.

4th of July Nail Stamping

Hey there!  I thought I'd do a quick 4th of July mani to celebrate the national holiday of our neighbours to the south.  I love that Canada has such a good relationship with the US, just like neighbours should so why not celebrate it on my nails?  Plus, I like having a good excuse to use sparkly red nail polish.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hey there!  Happy St. Patrick's Day friends!  I hope you enjoy the celebrations in whatever way you choose to, if at all.  Personally, I'll be painting my nails in front of my TV...in other words a normal Tuesday night.  I meant to post these on Sunday for the Sunday stamping challenge but I completely failed in my blogging attempts on Sunday.  So here is my latest St. Patrick's Day stamping.

St. Patrick's Day Nail Stamping with Superficially Colorful Lacquer Sham-Rockin' Collection

Press  Sample

Hey there!  I meant to post this yesterday but it ended up being a hard day for my family so I didn't think blogging was appropriate.  But I'm back today with some St. Patrick's Day-themed stamping that I did when I was swatching the Superficially Colorful Lacquer Sham-Rockin' Collection.

Lacquistry Chinese New Year

Nothing to Disclose

Hey there!  Since Sunday's stamping challenge was Chinese New Year nails, I wasn't going to do another CNY post BUT then I received my order with Lacquistry Chinese New Year yesterday and I couldn't resist putting it on last night.  And since I wasn't tired at midnight, I decided to stamp it to make it even more festive (and so I could show my co-workers from China today).

Valentine's Day Skittlette Nails

Hey there!  Happy Valentine's Day folks!  I'm single so I spent all day editing photos and now I'm watching Gone Girl with my sis and binging on chips.  Oh, the life of a single lady.  Luckily this is pretty much my ideal Saturday night!  I guess you guys are my Valentines because I do heart you!

Tonight's post is another "hearts on fire" mani, kind of.  This Pueen image, in it's entirety, looks more like hearts on fire but my nails aren't big enough to show the whole thing.

The stamping image is Pueen35 stamped with Mundo de Unas Reddish and filled with yellow and white acrylic paint.

The other colors in this mani are Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow and Milani Red Sparkle over Picture Polish Love, fittingly for the occasion.  All finished with HK Girl.

Well I'm going back to my movie and chips.  Hope everyone had a day filled with love, of any kind!

'Til next time...

Leadlighting Heart Stamping

Hey there!  I guess now that it's February I feel like I can do some Valentine's Day manis.  I'm not a fan of V-Day at all but I do love some cute heart nails.  Here I did leadlighting with Esmaltes da Kelly Soap Bubbles with stamping from one of the newest Bundle Monster plates.

Turkey Nail Stamping

Hey there!  It's Christmas Eve and today I'm sharing what I really hope is a funny Xmas mani that I did this weekend.  Ever since I got the Cici & Sisi plates, my sister has been bugging me to use the cooked turkey image so I finally did in this life cycle of a holiday turkey.
